We pick our own holidays

As the wife of a full-time musician, I've had to make adjustments.  Many adjustments.  One that comes to mind is the holidays; Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial/Labor Day, New Years, etc...Most of the time, Chubby is working, as he was on Mother's Day.  In a way, I luck out, because I get to celebrate twice.  Once on the actual day with Maya, then again when Chubby gets home.

This year we went to Carrabba's because they cater to gluten-free folks like me.  (I'll share my diet/health story with you soon.)

 I love this skirt

Maya wanted to show off her posing skills, too!

Do you get to spend most holidays with your family/loved ones?  Or do you have to make adjustments like us?

I love bright colors.  I love comfort.  This outfit has both.

But before we go any further, I want to talk to you for a minute. When I started thinking about documenting my outfits, I had one concern.  One that has cost me a lot of money.  You see, I follow fashion blogs, I love pinterest, I like recreating outfits (maybe because I'm not really as creative as I would like to believe).  Anyway....Here's the deal.  If I saw something cute, I would find out where it was purchased, and go buy it!  Most blogs I follow have the stores listed for each item.

The whole purpose of this blog is to be content with what I have.  And my hope is you can be too!  If I list where I purchased my clothing, would that defeat the purpose of this blog?  Would you be tempted to spend money on the same items?

While I love recreating outfits, I'm learning to use others' creativity for inspiration, rather than duplication.  I hope you will keep that in mind when you're visiting great blogs and pins on pinterest....

Why I decided to snap these pictures without makeup and hair done I'll never know...
Love the zebra belt with the patterned scarf
My fave scarf of all time
Almost ready for the day just missing the flat iron and makeup!
Perfect shoes for running errands...Although I need to slow that down.  Perfect house shoes!

I hope you can find something in your closet that's comfortable and just the right shade for you too.  Remember:  Inspiration not duplication!

So, will you let me know how tempting it would be for you if I list the stores for each item?

Thanks,

Misty

Handmade Headband (& an adorable model)

We were supposed to fly out yesterday to visit my mom in AZ, but our flight was cancelled due to weather. We were rescheduled for tonight, so my whole morning was wide open!

I stayed in my pj's til noon, sipped coffee, and checked out some blogs. I came across this website http://vintagerosewraps.com/
that sells funky headbands and decided to try making one myself.

I'm pleased the result...I figured that even if the headband didn't turn out great, at least I had an adorable model!
