Content...To be content...Am I content?
I'm the wife of a successful musician, mama to a great kid, a homeschool mom, homemaker, singer, and daughter of my heavenly Father. I have been blessed beyond measure.
Most days though, I run from sun-up to sun-down, adding too many things to my to-do list. But are they necessary? I wonder if I make myself too busy so I can ignore the possibility of discontentment. Perhaps if I slowed down I would find the answer.
Have I been too busy to eat right, exercise, take my vitamins, clean my house, clean my car, cook dinner, clean out that bottomless pit called a purse, and nurture the relationships with my family? I find it easy to procrastinate when it comes to doing the things that really matter. Instead I do things that allow me to be too busy to get it ALL done. Does that make sense? My priorities aren't always in order. If my list is long enough to keep me busy all day I can go out for dinner, right? Wrong. Should I really be running into town just to grab a Starbucks, a movie, a library book, or a piece of cute clothing? I could be here at home playing with Maya, planning a special "at-home-date" with my husband, or planning and preparing a delicious dinner. I love to craft and sew, but I rarely have time. I wonder why?
My hope is that this blog will hold me accountable. My plan is to document and share family time activities, healthy recipes, craft/organization/decorating ideas, and outfits so I won't walk into my jam-packed closet and think, "I have nothing to wear". It's high time that I make-do with what I've already got.
It's time to slow down. Find enjoyment in the little things. Make memories with the ones I share this life with. Yes, stop and smell the roses with a homemade cup o' joe.
Just be....content.
